Societies of Avesta: Nexus, YonkersVille, and Venatoria

Release Date 07.10.2025

As SEED’s Closed Beta begins to unfold, we’re seeing societies springing up across Avesta, each with its own character, values, and ambitions. What’s really becoming clear to us is that these communities aren’t just some mechanics in a game; they’re reflections of the people shaping them. So we thought we’d check in and take a look at three of the more interesting societies taking root right now. And remember if any one of these societies speaks to you or peaks your curiosity, you can reach out to the society leaders on Discord and try to join them!

Nexus: Building a Business Ecosystem

Nexus has quickly become something of a magnet for entrepreneurs. It would seem that at its heart is a belief that when one business thrives, everyone can benefit. Stunner, who helps guide the community, describes this approach as “business from a community angle,” where success is shared and collective progress is the real bottom line.

To encourage newcomers, Nexus has been giving away 10x10 land plots to incoming founders to help them find their footing. This way, it is less about competition and more about lifting each other up: you could see it as a cycle in which today’s startup becomes tomorrow’s mentor. The result, as far as we can see, is a society that feels less like a marketplace and more like an incubator.

YonkersVille: The Kingdom of Purple

To state what perhaps should be the obvious: not every society on Avesta looks or feels the same, and to prove this we would like to introduce Exhibit A: YonkersVille. Ruled by the Purple Dynasty, this “purple capitalist kingdom” is equal parts playful and, well, principled. Its philosophy is refreshingly simple, if also wholly idiosyncratic: don’t die, and embrace purple.

You read that right. This is a place that worships purple. But beneath the humor (is it humour, how serious is this devotion to purple, and what does it mean?) is a serious commitment to independence. Yonkonians range from casual citizens who just want a cozy home to ambitious entrepreneurs chasing a corporate empire. SlimJ, its reigning monarch, sees YonkersVille as a kind of social experiment: one day, he hopes to step back and watch the kingdom evolve into a democracy, even if that means purple isn’t the official color anymore. Until then, the dynasty rules in violet hues.

Venatoria: A Marketplace in Motion

So let’s say if Nexus is about structured support and YonkersVille about identity (and er, the colour purple), Venatoria is about freedom. From what we gather, this place’s guiding principle is a hands-off government, letting the economy ebb and flow as businesses and workers find their own balance.

Fiero describes it as a place where “workers make money, businesses thrive, and everyone can afford the finer things in life.” But Venatoria isn’t just practical: there’s a lot of creativity here too. Plans are underway for social clubs, community spaces, and decorative builds that will give the society cultural depth as well as economic drive. And ensuring this is a society in a hurry, it’s also recently engineered a subway system, complete with some rather fun and bespoke station names!

And The Bigger Picture?

Together, Nexus, YonkersVille, and Venatoria show just how diverse societies on Avesta are already shaping up to be.  As Susan Sontag once pointed out in a testy exchange with John Berger, this is a world that no longer believes in one single story. SEED has hundreds, and soon thousands, of stories, each shaped by the people who decide to build something lasting on the planet Avesta.

If one of these societies appeals to you, you can reach out to the society leaders on Discord!
